24.7lb HEN!

Well, here is the pictures of the brute!!! I still can't believe how big this one is.

First picture is me and, as Jon would put it, "my ugly mug". Brenda tucked the other two around the front of it, so it looks a little bigger in the first shot than what it is.

Second picture you can see the two "small" ones in the sink and the monster sitting off to the side just for an idea of how big it was!

And third picture is the THIRTEEN packages I ended up with for the freezer. I'll end up giving a bunch to my parents as they LOVE the Hen shrooms!

Good Lord Brandt!

How long did that one take to clean?
That's a years (or maybe two) supply.

Way to go buddy!

What did you use to cut it off the tree? A two man crosscut saw?
Or was it a size 12 boot? LOL

I know my little ole 3" jack knife wouldn't do the trick. Not all in one piece anyway.

WOW, Leonard!! That one is a monster as well!!!! Thanks, everyone. Yeah, I was quite excited. Luckily I found that one fairly close to the vehicle. I took my two others to the truck, and went back for the Mac Daddy! I had my shrooming knife and was able to get my arm under it and hack away. I started the cleaning process at 7:15pm and ended at 11:45pm. I had quite the operation going on! One big bowl for the cleaned pieces, one pot cooking them down, and one big pan sauteing them. Then the finished product went into a big stockpot. I kept stirring and cooling, and then bagging...The beer is for size comparison only. Honest....

Second shot is a pan full...They were so fresh and pristine....MMMMM!

Brandt that is a beast. What a beauty.

I took a picture of a hen I found last night that I thought was big. Yours made mine look like a pipsqueak and I probably won't even post it now.

Nice work. It is a fabulous hen year.
