Newbie

Good morning everyone! I have been reading this board for a year or so but have finally joined. I have never went morel hunting but have been wanting to go for years. Hopefully this will be the year I can make it out! Nobody I know does this sort of thing so I am going to start the adventure by myself. Once I gain the necessary knowledge I will bring my kids out. Any advice on the how-to's or do's and don'ts (to ensure the morels and I both continue living!) would be greatly appreciated. The people of this board seem to be wonderful people. I can't wait to be a part of it. Take care.....

Welcome to the board!

Hello and to the board AV8R.

You just may run into a neighbor on the board.

You'd be surprised how many times people get to talking in the woods and find out they are both members of Michigan Morels.

Hope you enjoy our place here and hang out with us when you're not actually in the woods.

Thanks for Joining!

Jay, ya live in an area that contains many seasoned and novice hunters, that are well aware of morels and morel lookalikes, look to see if ya can hook up with one of em for a hunt, and learn the do's and don'ts ,mike

Re: Newbie

Thanks for the advice Mike. I would love to hook up with someone for a hunt to show me the ropes and share their knowledge. You can read all the material available but it doesn't compare to years of experience.
