Big Huge May 9th bonus fungi

I found these all over a huge dead big tooth aspen a week ago today (May 9).

I have never found oysters this early in the Spring. Normally, I find them right about when morel season is pooping out on dead bta's.

These were absolutely perfect; no bugs. I picked about 5lbs. I could have come back the next day and picked another 5lbs, but didn't.

Re: Big Huge May 9th bonus fungi

Hi, I found one dead elm tree with oysters this year out in the middle of a field. the first picking was about 2 pounds. I went back every 5 days and picked 1.5 pounds for the last 4 weeks. I am going back today and i am sure i get another 1.5 pounds today. I just leave the little ones and they pop rite up. excellent elm tree.

Yep, I'm going to have to make some time to get out if I can. Congrats!
