My wife and her foot...

Sunday evening my wife fell and broke 5 bones on her foot. The doctor said "its as bad a break as one can get in the foot." Its going to need surgery. She's in pain, tired (hard to sleep), and worried about the surgery which, depending upon the swelling, will take place in the next couple of weeks. So, please keep her in your prayers. Thanks!

Update...

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers so far.

She has surgery Friday. To my suprize it's outpatient and will only take from 45 min to an hour and a half. However, recovery will be long. No weight on the ankle for another 6-7 weeks following surgery, then back in for an additional surgery (removal of screws) 3 -4 weeks after that. The upside is the doctor said it is very likely she could run again, it just likely will never be pain free running. That brightened her day given the alternative.

Update...

The surgery went very well. The doctor had to only use 2 pins - he had anticipated at least 3. She is doing well but the foot is still numb. That will start wearing off anytime so she's a bit nervous about the pain. All in all we couldn't have asked for more at this point. Thanks again!

Re: Update...

More good news - she's in less pain post-surgery than before. I have to assume its because all the bones are lined up where they supposed to now. She's happy about it! LOL
