"Mushroom Hunter's Field Guide" by Alex Smith

Anyone familiar with the "Mushroom Hunter's Field Guide" by Alexander Smith and Nancy Smith Weber? I believe I purchased this book for my dad some years ago and if I remember it has key's in it and solid color pictures. My dad cannot locate his current copy so I'm not 100% sure that is the right book. I've found it on different websites and I think its right but before I purchase it I want to be sure. Any help would be appreciated!

I have one from the ninth reprint(1974).It has mainly black and white photos but does have some colored pictures in the back of the book and is not co-authored by Nancy Smith Weber.

The latest edition is 1996 and has Nancy Smith Weber as a coauthor. I see this book has been around since '58 (give or take) so I figured it must be half way decent to make revisions for 40 years. I think I'm going to start with this one.

Vance in its day, it was "the go to book", for everyu shroomer, still a good book also, my 1958 copy is kept with books of value and age, but unfortunetly my 1996 reprint was destroyed by a serious book owners problem, Carpetus critteri, mike

1996 version - how was it better/was it better than the 1980 version? Maybe you didn't own a 1980 but...
