Lapeer State Game Area

Went for a walk yesterday in Lapeer State Game Area and found what appears to be Galerina autumnalis. The first pictures not too good, but shows a good underside shot. We also found some fresh Honeys ( 4 baskets full ) and Albatrellus ovinus. No Blewets yet though!!

Cool shrooms Jack, was searching through all my books to see if i could find a lookalike for pictures 4 & 5, the stem below the ring is almost black, where as in the previous picks, the stems are light colored.

Hi Leonard, I think the blackening of the stem is just due to aging. Other clusters, that hadn't opened up yet, were lighter colored. I ate the older ones and the fresh ones with no ill effects. I ended up with over three gallons of dried ones for my winter stash. Also dried a couple of gallons of Suillus granulatus. Still waiting for the darn shaggys to appear around here though. Wish they would hurry up cause I can't get enough of them when they appear. I love them better then morels !!!
