June 02	60^o 39^o	¹/_4"			Haven't had any more reports of any finds, so I'm declaring this season OVER! It's official now folks, so you can go home and warm up by the fire. LOL Be sure to visit me off and on to see any changes or new items on my site. Thanks for all the emails and reports. I appreciate them.

May 31	56^o 31^o	Frost			Reports of white/yellow morel finds are spotty now with only a few (5 to 20) being found over week end. They say they are Large ones tho'.

May 26	60^o 39^o	¹/₂"			Got a report from two people who picked over 30 lb. on the 24th and 26th in northern Mich. They said the ground temps ranged from 60^o to 65^o

May 24	63^o 37^o	¹/_2"			Scattered reports of some success still coming in with white/yellow morels in northern Michigan. A lot more reports are saying that they are finding "Old" and drying ones. The rains may help extend the season a bit into Memorial week-end. It will take a LOT of walking on your part.

May 19	77^o 42^o				Even with MUCH warmer days people are still getting some white/yellow morels. Wish I could go, but.... work calls. :(
May 17	80^o 55^o	Light Showr			Didn't get out today.
May 15 & May 16th	70^o 50^o	1 ¹/₄" or more			This will be the end of my personal reports, as I will be unable to get to woods again this season. (I guess my season ended on May 10th actually) Your white / yellow season will continue just fine. Only I won't be able to be in the woods. Working 7days/week now. :( Ground temp in woods today was 62^o I will continue to post temps, rain for the next couple weeks for you. Just no morels to go with it. :(
May 14	53^o 38 ^o	¹/_2"			Hope you all had a nice Mother's day on the 13th. Sorry about not post ing a couple of days, but I was a good son, <grin> and went to visit my 91 yr old dear mother. She said to tell you all "Hello". We are getting some rain tonight and forcasted for tomorrow too.

May 10	80^o 50 ^o	¹/₂		119	Deb and I went out with the motley crew (sis niece and friend) again. Didn't do so hot. 64 Whites and 55 blacks in about 4 ¹/₂ hrs. If it hadn't been for Debbie finding one Elm stump with 55 whites around it, we would've fares much worse. LOL Way to go Deb!
May 09	72^o 50^o			87	Went to three different areas today. South, Northeast and North west. Deb and I hunted seperatly. She out picked me 2 to 1 and found 15 nice whites. The rest of our take was black spikes, signaling the end of the blacks. So I guess we'll hunt whites from here on out. Ground Temp 60^o
May 08	70^o 50 ^o			13	Debbie went out looking for new area tonight. As often when scouting in unknown areas you end up with not much. 6 of these were whites.
May 07	72^o 50^o	³/_4"			Didn't get out today. Did get a bit of rain finally.
May 06	66^o 47^o			32	Debbie went out for 3 or 4 hours today and only found these few. This in an area where she picked over 130 just a few days ago. Rain in forecast though for next couple of days. Ground Temp 58^o
May 05	62^o 37^o				Didn't get out today.
May 04	63^o 42^o	¹/₄		504	Ground Temp 54^o in wooded areas. 60^o in grassy sunny areas. A wonderful time with my wife, sister, niece and her friend today. We found these blacks in the late afternoon. Would have found more if we could have gotten Karen away from the coffee pot earlier! Just teasing "K". LOL
May 03	62^o 44^o	^1"		34	Long story...Short trip. Just got to spot and started picking when we had to leave. It was a good spot too, darn it. Broke my heart :<( Showers moving through area tonight. Should really get them going.
May 02	80^o 58^o			0	Debbie again scouted another lead for spot to pick. Fizzeled. Did not even find one. Scouting is like that most times. Can't all be like yesterday.
May 01	80^o 60 ^o	Trace		133	Gound Temp 51^o Debbie and a friend found these in an hour or less tonight. Some VERY large one too. Can't wait till I can get in the woods to join them again.
Apr 30	80^o 56^o			37	Debbie found these this evening in 45 minutes. Boy these temps should start things popping!

Apr 29	68^o 47 ^o			59	Ground temps still at 50^o @ 4" deep. Debbie & I were out for almost 3 hrs and that is all we could find. Temps are finally getting up to normal. Rain predicted Monday. Next week should see Quite an improvment. But of course Deb's vacation is up, and my 4 days off are gone too. LOL
Apr 28	55^{o 28o}			47	Ground temps 50^o . Still not doing real well. Did see some people who were walking like they were in a marathon, but their bags were a lot fuller than mine. They were in much better shape than this old fart. LOL
Apr 27	52^o 28^o				Cool today. Wasn't able to get out in the woods. Bummer.
Apr 26	55^o 40^o	¹/₄		53	Ground temp 48^o . A few showers late afternoon and evening. mushrooms were on the small side. Took Debbie and I about 3 hours to get these.
Apr 25	60^o 38 ^o				Didn't either one of us get to woods today. Warmer than yesterday though. Will be going out the next 4 days. Hoping they will sprout with warmer weather that we are supposed to be getting.
Apr 24	48^{o 26o}		¹/₂		Didn't either one of us get to woods today. Snowed very hard in early A.M. Depressed wife. <G> Melted right off tho.
Apr 23	65^o 40^o	¹/4" to ¹/₂"		5	Ground temp 46 ^o. Debbie found only 5 in 4 hours today. Scattered Showers dropped rain in varying amounts accros area.
Apr 22	68^o 40 ^o			9	Debbie went out again and got 9 more small ones. (again I had to work. Whine) Rocky....Debbie says she will be glad to offer a guided morel hunt for you, seeing as you only got one today. LOL (She's mean :)
Apr 21	70 ^o 40 ^o			7	Ground temp 45^o . We warmed up quite a bit today and that little bit of rain has finally produced a few small morels in our area. My wife found them tonight! (I had to work, durn it all!)
Apr 19 & 20	60^o 35^o	¹/4"		0	A bit of rain today and yesterda. Not as much as down state recieved though. Went out for about 1¹/₂hours but came home empty again.
Apr 19	60 ^o 35 ^o			0	The warm up has started, with rain predicted for Fri night and Saturday. Will this do it? I sure hope so! Out for an hour today, but no morels.
Apr 17	37 ^o 18 ^o			0	Partly cloudy to sunny in afternoon. Still cold. Warm up predicted this week-end. Get ready. This may be it!

Apr 16	30 ^o 20 ^o		1¹/₂	0	Ground temp 40^o ^{@ 4" deep.} Cold today and tonight. About 1¹/₂" of snow fell over night.
Apr 15	55 ^o 30^o			0	Partly cloudy to sunny in afternoon. No luck yet.
Apr 14	58^o 27^o	Trace to ¹/10			Went out for about an hour yesterday. Didn't find any morels. Took Ground Temp. 40 ^o at 4" deep. Cooler weather in forecast the next few days. Will delay us even more.
Apr 11	35 ^o 52^o	2"			We are getting thunder showers as I write this. They have been going on for several hours now. It was cool today, but a warm front came though tonight bringing a nice heavy warm rain. This ought to warm the ground and get them going! I'll be going out Friday and I'll let you know.
Apr 10	40^o 27^o	light rain			Well, that 60 ^o warm up lasted only about 12 hours the other day. it dropped back into the 40's for highs on the 8th. cool ever since.
APR 07	40 ^o 60 ^o	Light mist			I left for work at 1 PM and it was barely 40^o . When I got home around 11:30 PM it was 60 ^o . I've now got spring and morel fever so bad it hurts! This is the 1st really warm temps we've had this spring, and I know if it will last a few days it will speed up the process. Still....We're probably 1¹/₂to 2 weeks away from morels in northern MI.
APR 06	43^o 30^o	¹/₂" Rain			The last few days have been in the 40's and 50's. The next 3 or 4 days are supposed to get up to 60 ^o with some more showers. This will help knock more snow down as we still have a few inches left in the woods. Getting some reports of finds in Indiana and Tennessee. It won't be long. Couple of weeks yet for here in northern Michigan.
APR 03	38 ^o 28 ^o		light snow		I stepped onto the back porch at 2:00 AM, to help the snow bank melt a little faster, and would you believe it? IT WAS SNOWING AGAIN!
Mar 24-25 & 26	12^o - 4 ^o		6" of Snow		The 24th, 25th & 26th was very cold. About 6 inches of snow total over the 3 days. Come on now. Lets get back to spring!
Mar 22	45 ^o 28 ^o				Last few days has been perfect for slow snow melting. Thawing during the day and freezing at night, lets the water soak into the ground rather than run off so much. Maybe it will help us out this season.
Mar 08	22 ^o 12 ^o		6" of Snow		Last year on this date in march, we had 78 ^o ! Spring fever hit me bad that day. I had to go look even though I knew there weren't any yet.
